Later, when returning to Earth, we can assume that the Mondos had brought her out of stasis and she was wearing one of their environment suits when the ship was shot down. If anything, the overall message of the film (and Leeloo's self-discovery) is "Humanity has its flaws, but also the potential to be more."Īs for the statue at the beginning, the "statue" taken by the Mondos was actually Leeloo's stasis chamber - like a "coffin" of sorts with her inside. It also backs up the concept that Leeloo had to embrace her humanity before she could destroy (attack?) the great evil. There are obviously other planets in the universe with civilizations on them, so why make a beeline straight to Earth? Because humanity, or what it can potentially become at some point, is the greatest threat. The theory of humanity in general being the Fifth Element is largely supported by the fact that the great evil (the black planet) existed to destroy all life, yet its first target was Earth. She is perfect from a biological standpoint. Leeloo is not "perfect" because she kicks ass and looks good doing it. It has infinite genetic knowledge stored inside. MACTILBURGH: This cell is like a huge library. you see, normal human beings have 40 DNA memo groups, which is more than enough for any species to perpetuate itself. we've never encountered anything like it before. The Professor keeps reading over the inscription. In 1914, the Professor (when reading the inscription on Leeloo's chamber): Here are some quotes from the film that support the "perfect human" theory: This speculation comes not only from her tightly-packed DNA, but also from her weapon against evil being the "Divine Light of Creation". Simpler versions, yes, but based on the same DNA. It's never stated in the film, but there has been speculation among fans that Leeloo is, in fact, the first human being - the genetic "template" from which all other humans & animals on Earth were created. Basically, Leeloo is the "perfect" human, with her DNA containing the blueprint for everything that humanity has the potential to become. The Fifth Element is humanity, and Leeloo is the perfect specimen representing that element. We're therefore left to infer from dialogue in the script, film & novelization. Besson purposely left the film's various meanings ambiguous because he wanted viewers to make their own conclusions. Ok, some of this is supported by comments by Luc Besson, but it's mostly based on speculation & discussion among fans. TL DR : No official explanation, but we can speculate Leeloo represents humanity and its potential. You can create 5 invites for coworkers to each workspace. Timedelta returns a timedelta object and accepts the same arguments as the Python datetime.timedelta function – days, seconds, microseconds, milliseconds, minutes, hours, weeks. Using relative_time() will cause templates to be refreshed at the start of every new minute.Note that it only works for dates in the past. The age can be in second, minute, hour, day, month or year (but only the biggest unit is considered, e.g., if it’s 2 days and 3 hours, “2 days” will be returned). Relative_time converts datetime object to its human-friendly “age” string. If that fails, it returns the default value or, if omitted, raises an error. Strptime(string, format, default) parses a string based on a format and returns a datetime object. This function can also be used as a filter. This function can also be used as a filter.Īs_local() converts datetime object to local time. If that fails, returns the default value, or if omitted raises an error. Using today_at() will cause templates to be refreshed at the start of every new minute.Īs_datetime() converts a string containing a timestamp, or valid UNIX timestamp, to a datetime object.Īs_timestamp(value, default) converts datetime object or string to UNIX timestamp.Today_at(value) converts a string containing a military time format to a datetime object with today’s date in your time zone. Using utcnow() will cause templates to be refreshed at the start of every new minute. For specific values: utcnow().second, utcnow().minute, utcnow().hour, utcnow().day, utcnow().month, utcnow().year, utcnow().weekday() and utcnow().isoweekday().Utcnow() returns a datetime object of the current time in the UTC timezone. Using now() will cause templates to be refreshed at the start of every new minute. You can also use: now().second, now().minute, now().hour, now().day, now().month, now().year, now().weekday() and now().isoweekday() and other datetime attributes and functions.Now() returns a datetime object that represents the current time in your time zone. Now(), relative_time(), today_at(), and utcnow() are not supported in limited templates. This form of the expression short-circuits so if the platform is event the expression trigger.to_state.state will never be evaluated and won’t cause an error. Instead you have to do this if atform = 'event' else trigger.to_state.state. This won’t work because both expressions will be evaluated and one will fail since the field doesn’t exist. This means you cannot use this filter to prevent executing an expression which would result in an error.įor example, if you wanted to select a field from trigger in an automation based on the platform you might go to make this template: atform = 'event' | iif(, trigger.to_state.state). The if_true, if_false and if_none expressions will all be evaluated and the filter will simply return one of the resulting values. The immediate if filter does not short-circuit like you might expect with a typical conditional statement. The following example results in the number 20.001: The examples below show the output of a temperature sensor with state 20.001, unit ☌ and user configured presentation rounding set to 1 decimal. Script : msg_who_is_home : sequence : - service : notify.notify data : message : > To keep a clear overview, consider using YAML multiline strings to define your templates: Navigate to Developer Tools > Template, create your template in the Template editor and check the results on the right. The frontend has a template editor tool to help develop and debug templates. We will not go over the basics of the syntax, as Jinja2 does a great job of this in their templates documentation. Jinja2 supports a wide variety of operations: This means that we are using their syntax and make some custom Home Assistant variables available to templates during rendering. Templating in Home Assistant is powered by the Jinja2 templating engine. Process incoming data from sources that provide raw data, like MQTT, rest sensor or the command_line sensor. All up, it took me nearly twelve hours to beat all the games missions and 100% complete the Iki Island map. If you liked the legends in the main game, there's two more to follow through in the Iki Island that'll award you with new armour to wear, and there's, of course, a handful of optional quests and activities to be completed. Instead of just wolves to pet, there's deer, cat and other animals. It's sizeable, with plenty to find and do, but it keeps the "small island" feel at all times. The Iki Island DLC takes place over a map that's probably around half the size of the Act 1 area of the main. This makes you have to seek them out at the back of a battle or pull out your bow to disperse them quickly. Still, a new enemy typed introduced called 'The Shaman' plays a tune that'll excite all other enemies and cause them to dodge well or throw never-ending uncounterable strikes. I say almost because, of course, there are lots to enjoy about the combat in Ghost of Tsushima. Nothing drastically changes with the Iki Island DLC. In that case, I'd almost prefer that game. Suppose there was a version of this game without any combat where I could play a travelling scholar and was tasked with simply enjoying and capturing moments of Iki Island of Tsushima's landscape and animals. Ghost of Tsushima was a beautiful game on PS4, and with the PS5 version, you have some slight improvements that still make it one of the best looking games you can play right now. Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cutlaunches Augfor PS4 and PS5.Much like the base game, exploration is the most exciting aspect of Iki Island. From the windy beaches with battling ships in the distances to the florescent forests and the almost Arthurian battle sites, I was again stopping to use the games photo mode a lot more than I have in any other game. The DLC looks to be largely built around what made the original game so special, which is perhaps the best approach an expansion like this can take. But if there's one thing fans should be excited for in this next-gen re-release, it's Iki Island. Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut is hitting store shelves in just under a month boasting myriad improvements like enhanced visuals, DualSense functionality, and proper lip-syncing for the Japanese dub of the game. It remains to be seen if any other wildlife will pop up, but it's refreshing to know that more docile creatures will be roaming the land, given that much of Tsushima Island's fauna is largely hostile. So far, Sucker Punch has confirmed that cats, deer, and monkeys will inhabit Iki. But unlike the foxes, players will have to calm them first by playing Jin's flute before giving them some love. Thankfully, Iki Island will boast more animals ready for some pets when the expansion releases. But many agree that some of the game's most joyous, adorable moments come from getting to pet the various foxes running around Tsushima island seeing them react to Jin's affection is cute enough, but watching how they jump and yip in glee before setting off into the wilderness is among the most enchanting things to be seen in the game. One might take pleasure in the beautiful, wide-open landscapes, relaxing in the hot springs, or composing haiku. However, there are some brief moments of relief to be found throughout the game. It's bloody, characters die in violent, gruesome ways, and the story is pretty light on levity. The expansion looks poised to zero in on how one reconciles their own values they hold to be true with the warped, antiquated ones of their ancestors, which has the potential to be an incredibly compelling tale. The battle between change and tradition is Ghost of Tsushima'score conflict, but whereas the base game explored that struggle in regard to how to defend one's homeland, the upcoming DLC seems to be more a matter of family. PlayStation has stated that Jin Sakai-who has visited the island once before-will have to "face old fears" and confront "buried traumas" head-on, while simultaneously coming to terms with his family's shadowy, presumably bloody past. While Jin's goal may be fairly straightforward, the moral reckoning he's likely to endure is anything but. With the new location comes a new story with a familiar premise: Jin has to stop a group of Mongols who pose a threat to his home. Upon reaching Act 2 of the game, players will be able to depart the titular island of Tsushima to visit Iki Island.
In fact, when it comes to commercial use, rear projection may actually be the wiser option.Īs mentioned previously, movie sets are a huge champion of using rear projection to bring their stories to life, with our rear projection screens featuring in many of Hollywood’s notable films including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. What are the advantages of rear projection?įront projection is now undoubtedly the more popular option, but that’s not to say that rear projection doesn’t have its advantages. Plus, if you were to use front projection, any actors and props in the scene would cast shadows on the screen-thereby ruining the effect of the projection. Rear projection used to be all the rage in the film industry: cast your mind back to car chases in old James Bond movies.īut why was it so popular? Well, the theory is that by putting the projector behind the screen and in its own room (where you have complete control over the surrounding lighting), you can achieve the best image possible-and avoid the effects of any ambient lighting that may be hitting the front of the screen. The principles are pretty basic-you simply place your projector behind the screen, shooting towards the audience, set it to rear projection mode, and you’re all done. In this article, we’re going to explore how rear projection works, the benefits that it brings, and what to consider before purchasing a rear projector. But have you ever considered the potential benefits of rear projection ? You’ve probably heard of front projection before-in other words, when a projector is placed in front of the screen. Huh interesting, i think what we need ultimatly is a good difuser that wont eat too much light yet yeald a bright image that is even, i have tried plexi painted white on one side for the front projection system but plexi uses light, it was 3mm thick plexi, i think ultimatley a 1mm or 1.5mm thick plexi would do the trick, maybe plexi in the white coulor or a difused plexi, i did try to see what it was like on the other side of the plexi to see if i could see much of a picture on the otherside and yess quite bright actually and clear, i dont know how evenly lit it was as it was only on a small piece of scrap but i think its got potentional, i maybe going to get more plexi this week so ill have a look and see if i can get a few samples to try different types and to see whats best or if this idea is worth persuing, an idea i had was the chistmas spray u put on your windows at christmas for the snow afect, this stuff is quite translucent and difused, abit like the phosfourus in a crt so maybe this will work, the only thing is it will have to be evenly spayed, another idea yeah yeah they keep coming eh? lol is to use the contact u put on school books, use the white that is quite transmisive too and easy to aply, anyway any thoughts keep them coming.Posted March 18th, 2021 by Emily Burkinshaw & filed under I wish could add pictures but I dont how to but more than one image on a single post. You would need a larger fresnel lense the size of screen to make the light ways equal when they reach your eyes. The longer the light rays are the darker they are when they reach your eyes. Once you get it build you notice that the screen is %100 viewable from a distance and at eye level, this is because the light rays coming from the projector are not the same length, thats why the center is brighter than the other areas around the screen. Once you get it just right build the rest of your frame around it. Now here is were the trail and error come in, you have to figure out how to position your mirror and projector to get a image that fits you screen and is focused. Mine is made with the Sony PSone Lcd, a 42 watt(2700 lumen) compact floruescent light bulb and the Figinon rear projection tv lense.īuild a frame for the screen just something to hold it up, my screen was made from a piece of plex-glass and a opaque show curtain. Now for the projector, first build it so that the image will show correctly on the this mean that it shows up on the wall like a regular tv. You need a large mirror if you want to keep it small and keep the image bright. After you figure out how big you want your screen find a mirror that is a couple of inches smaller than your screen or one the size of screen. To start out figure how big you want screen, 40" to 50" inches are easy to make but 60 and up are harder, unless you are going to but the projector directly behind you screen. I'm here to help anyone who is interested in building a rear projection, I have succesfully build a rear projection tv use a design I found at I don't know if there are calculation that you can use to figure out how far your projector from the I just used trail and error and it works. |
